[packed and ready to go, but first...]
Whew, it has been a busy and really fun couple of weeks...

• Birthday week started off with this present to myself.
• I also had a whole week full of spa appointments, starting off with my first set of lash extensions and ending with a mani/pedi @ Bliss Spa Scottsdale.
• This year's birthday dress is from Contrarian (it's been on my wish list since 2012!).
• On my actual birthday, we had a very nice dinner fountain-side at Dominick's Steakhouse (which was even better than we remembered).
• Nick spoiled me by buying me a pair of Louboutins, but unfortunately they hurt my feet so I returned them for a pair of Valentino Rockstud Pumps (which I'm sure will also hurt my feet).
• And finally, it all culminated with a nice vacation in Waikiki!

[on our second day, we hiked up Diamondhead and were treated to another nice view]


[of course, we had to soak up the sun]


[I had my first Acai bowl and it was delicious, so I had another one]


[we enjoyed tropical drinks and live music for four straight days @ The Beach Bar]


[I can't swim, but attempted snorkeling (not recommended) @ Hanuama Bay]


[the shaved ice from Island Vintage Shave Ice was so good we went back two days in a row]


[we were very touristy and took selfies all over the place]


[Malasadas @ Leonard's Bakery - they were good, but I still prefer Krispy Kreme]


[on our last day, we drove to Haleiwa to look at the big waves and turtles (none were found)]

...and now we're back, ready to tackle the Arizona summer!...
