...J.Crew Gold-Stripe Dress. This dress didn't look very impressive on the rack or on the model, but I had to try it on just in case and boy am I glad I did. It's fantastic! I thought the poufy skirt contrasted very well with the tight-fitting bodice, making for a very flattering fit.

...Alice + Olivia Shelly Lace Dress. Picking a Christmas dinner dress never gets any easier. This year, I went with another black dress, but I think the lace back and leather accents are just enough to give it a bit of an edge. I'll be wearing it with Louboutin boots and my growing MARC by Marc Jacobs bracelet collection.
